Creepy people “unboxing” YouTube videos

I believe I stumbled upon this sign if the end of times when I was looking for real vs. fake features of some overpriced brand, mainly because the Chinese have done an amazing job at fooling thousands of American women.

To my surprise, there was an absurd amount of “unboxing” different kinds of crap videos that made me lose even more faith in the human race.

Here are some stats that summarize my findings:

The keyword “unboxing” gave almost 20 million results and the first video in that search has 2.8 million views. For a duration of approximately 19 minutes and evaluated at the federal minimum wage US$ 7.25/hr), the time spent in this activity would be valued at 6.4 million dollars.

Most of these videos, and some of the most popular, are incredibly annoying women who just spent an absurd amount of money on some overpriced article. I don’t wish upon anyone ever having to see this. Ever.

I regret every second I spent watching parts of these videos, but I after the eye bleeding and the death of a few neurons, I have to say it was all in the name of research. I took one of the team here. I didn’t include the links because this is not about helping those “people” get more attention, but rather realize that all those hours collectively spent watching this are an embarrassment for our kind.

Love,

Yari
