Renting your clothes?

Maybe you don’t wear that dress anymore, maybe you are a little sick of it or you just need a break. But it’s a good piece, well-crafted and you paid good money for it: you are not ready to let it go, but you feel a little guilty for not wearing it… What if you could get some extra money for letting others wear your clothes? And what if you could expand your wardrobe options by being able to rent other people’s clothes?

Old school

The old easy way of dealing with old clothes was to take them to Goodwill or The Salvation Army, but I believe that a lot of people don’t donate their clothes because they know they will end up in a pile of sad unwanted garments, causing overflowing closets and “wardrobe pollution”.

Also, many of those donated clothes end up in dubious locations, become waste or gets recycled, not really serving their best use: being worn by someone else. Having to sort and navigate through mountains of random clothes makes the value of each piece decrease immensely, since there is no easy way to find a specific item, filter by size or sort by color.

Another option was to sell on eBay, but what if you think you could still wear it, just not every day? It’s hard to let go of vintage and brand name clothes that we love, and it’s sad to see them sold at very low prices too, when they are still so valuable for us.

Revive your closet!

Your old black sweater might look old to you, but it is a new and exciting item for one of your friends, maybe? Or for someone in your city? The difference between your sweater becoming an industrial rag or a $60 fashion statement piece lies in some creativity and a couple photos!
