Etsy has everything from Halloween cookie cutters to soap. It also has an endless assortment of vintage fashion and accessories that encompass both trendy and timeless pieces. Monograms, vintage clothes and hair accessories are some of my favorite things to get on Etsy.
Although not everything is handmade or vintage (there is a lot of stuff coming straight from China ), the selection, price point and the fact that Etsy became the first major online retailer to offset 100% of its emissions from shipping, which is pretty cool, make it a shopping destination worth considering for select categories.

What to buy on Etsy
- Faux pearl hair barrettes. The hair accessory of the season (only behind giant brand logo barrettes).
- Am initial gold necklace. Adding to the narcissistic tendencies of today’s big logo, monogram-obsessed fashion world.
- A cool indie wall print. Although the essence behind a good gallery wall is in how you combine different prints, Etsy is a great place to start building your selection.
- A vintage fur coat. Because it is much more “ethical” than a new fur coat?
- Vintage denim jacket. Because a brand new jacket needs a good hundred wears to fully acquire the old school look. Save time and get a well-worn one instead.
- Acrylic barrettes. More whimsical hair accessories.
- A vintage gold brooch. Inspired by #oldceline and the collective obsession with flashy gold details.
- Stationery sets. For a stationery lover, Etsy is a dangerous place. Also thousands of individual stationery products available.
- Straw bags. The Jane Birkin straw bag and many more, made in different corners of the globe at affordable prices.
- Net bags. Because the French farmer’s market style will never go out of style.
- Hair bows. Simple and classy, a fresh touch to welcome the Spring.
- A macrame wall hanging. If, like me, you are not into DIY’s, but want the artsy girl credit, you can find a good variety of handmade wall hangings to elevate your space.
- Fun mugs. Aka boobs mugs.
- A scrunchie! Because fashion comes in waves and because I don’t even know why, but I want one.
