Abury, the brand of luxury leather goods and handcrafted accessories is hosting the ADEX contest again this year, calling all independent designers to participate and have the chance to earn up to $5000 budget to spend in Ecuador or Morocco to produce their own clothing line.
The participants will have to create a fashion collection using ideas, materials and inspiration from different cultures. The objective is to help preserve world crafts while enriching the fashion industry and generating an positive impact in the communities involved.
The two winners will be given detailed training and will be embedded in the craft culture they choose for about three months, in which they will learn new skills and ultimately design a collection based on this cultural experience. Their capsule collection will be sold by Abury and the designers will get a percentage of the wholesale revenue.
To be eligible, the contestants must be graduate fashion students or established designers and must comply with the following:
- Minimum age: 21 years old
- Maximum 5 years after graduation.
- Availability from July to October 2015
- Any nationalities are welcomed.
